Translating help to gogoyoko blog
Because the gogoyoko team offered me free stickers (haven’t received them yet) I’m willing to help them translate DI.se’s interview with Eldar Astthorsson.
Di.se in English:
The musicans can themself choose how much they are willing to get paid for their music and get the income. The Icelandic gogoyoko.com want to connect musicans and music buyers without middleman.
Gogoyoko are yet being tested and the commerce haven’t started yet. When the site is working as it should it’s meant to be used for artists and fans without middleman.
The artist upload the song and decide the price. The members pays with credit card and the income gives to the artist.
How will you get paid?
“From advertising and later from services like sale of tickets” says Eldar Astthorsson, Gogoyoko’s marketing manager.
According to him the big labels have failed to present good buying-methods on the web.
“Our idea came from musicans that have been selling their music for example on Itunes without being satisfied. Artists looking for new ways to communicate with their fans and new ways to sell their music.”
What’s special with Gogoyoko?
“We want to give musicans a way to spread out their music and get paid without middleman. And it should be easy. Artists can themself upload music so the members can pay and get streamed to the computer. You don’t have to download any program to your computer.”
Can you name some musicans that been interested?
“Because we haven’t opened our service yet no one have started selling songs, but for example Timbuktu (picture) have showed his support.”
Gogoyoko plans to introduce a full version of the site in the end of July. Behind the project there are some Icelandic investigators and the Norwegian Ignitas.
“We want to start at the beginning and have no bands or big players in the music business”, says Eldar Astthorsson.
